Brian and Shehz take a minute off. We'll send more pictures soon -- we're driving around the most scenic parts of NZ so you'll have lots to see by the time we update next. Hope you've enjoyed it!

Ian stands on the steepest street in the WORLD (seriously, look it up!). Baldwin street in Dunedin. Also drove up it. Soiled my jeans.

New Zealand. Trust me, everything looks like this. It's hard not to stop the car every 100m to take another picture. What a crazy country!

A stained glass window at a big church in Melbourne. Nothing too special.

Downtown Melbourne. I loved Melbourne. Go there!

My new kicks -- not bad!

Juan looking out for seagulls. This picture is perfect, as a super-aggressive one is speeding behind him as the picture was taken. I love it!

These birds were doing it, but then they stopped as soon as I tried to take their picture. Jerks.

Some picture I took. This was near the penguin parade. We'll tell you about that later.

Our car. We hit a lot of flies. A LOT. Half of these are still living and are eating the other flies we killed. Nice picture.

Erskine Falls, near the town of Torquay (pronounced Tor-kee). Nice, nice.

Ian meditating on a large stump. I found myself.

The Loch and Gorge.

The Blowhole. Yet another cool stop along the Great Ocean Road.

The real sunrise at the Twelve Apostles.

Ivan checks out the Twelve Apostles at sunrise.

The group assembles for the lineup and subsequent counting. Leave no man behind!

Famous Bells Beach, home to some of the best surfing in the world. The swell was almost non-existant when we went and the beach was deserted, but it was still awesome. Wee!

There are flies EVERYWHERE in South Australia and Victoria. This isn't even bad, I promise. Wait till you see the CAR picture!

The group hops into a boat at... Port Campbell I believe. We played more football here.

Shehz and Juan take some time off for a smile. They have moustaches. They're really beautiful, aren't they?! Did we all do it? Maybe. Yes, actually.

Maria tries to grab some rays.

The Blue Lake at Mount Gambier. A nice big volcanic lake! Very blue, as promised.

Ivan in our "cell".

The Old Jail in Mount Gambier where we stayed. In cells. Seriously. I got to use a toilet that had been around since the late 19th century. But that was optional!

Jeremy stands beside a prehistoric tree kangaroo. This was when we visited the caves of Naracoorte. We saw bats giving birth. Thousands of them. Creepy.

A nice building shot from the interior of a car. I wish the angles had been a little more exact -- I tried my best. Notice the one missing window.

The group assembles at the Adelaide cricket pitch.

A black swan in an Adelaide park -- they're everywhere!

Our group prepares to take the Whispering Wall for a test run.

The Whispering Wall. I'm about halfway across. The idea is that you stand at one end (where you see people), and somebody stands at the opposite end of the arc. By some incredible miracle, you're able to hear people whispering at the other side across a distance of 140m. Neato!

Maja and Ivan as seen through a winery price list (I believe).

Pretty flowers.

The biggest rocking horse in the world -- literally! This is in the Barossa wine region close to Adelaide. We did a bit of a winery tour!

A fountain in central Adelaide at night.

Shehz gets ready to snap, as Jeremy prepares to get sacked by our fearsome defensive line.

Maja speaks to somebody on the phone. She seems happy about that.

Ian's lengthy shadow. I'd crop that bit in the top left out of it, but I have no facility for doing that here!

Shehz and Al plan a new football play, but they can't hide from the prying eyes of Ian's camera!

Al tosses a Hail Mary during our football game. This one was headed straight towards the person you see laying down in the distance (whom we didn't know). Ivan jumped right over him, but missed the catch. It was a good try anyway!

A nice shadow of... somebody near a local sculpture.

Ian celebrates Christmas early in Australia. People weren't quite sure what to think of us.

Shehz took some dives for some footballs and this picture is the result. What a supermodel.

A nice clocktower in Adelaide as seen from (through) the docks.

A few of us on Glenelg beach. 'Twas quite windy!

The historic tram in Adelaide. It takes you to Glenelg beach in about 20 minutes. I think it's about 1920s-30s era -- I can't remember exactly. Neat though!

A spider that hung above the sidewalk near our house, ready to pounce upon unsuspecting children and deliver a fatal, venomous payload. Or maybe it just liked insects, I wasn't sure.

the best we can do...

hey guys,

sorry it's been so long since we've done anything, but we're quite busy i assure you! we've been spending the last few days travelling in tandem nissan pulsars across the great ocean road connecting adelaide and melbourne. we've seen and done some pretty fantastic things: from winery tours in the barossa valley, to seeing the world's largest rocking horse (?!), to sunrise at the twelve apostles, to checking out the sights at bells beach. trust me -- when the pictures finally get posted, they will fall like a queensland rain. as of now, however, these internet cafes are a little restrictive and scattered to allow for any extended time to do so. soon enough we'll find a suitable place (perhaps when we settle down in melbourne the day after tomorrow) and then you'll be able to take a glimpse of what we've been up to.

our sincerest apologies, but we're all safe and doing fine, and you'll be hearing from us again soon!

bye for now,

> ian

The remains of an afternoon drizzle on a post box.

Aussies can go to great lengths to ensure adequate television reception, including, but not limited to, the erection of nature-mimicking structures standing precariously balanced.

Seems to work.
